So...The Eagles And Redskins May Not Play This Weekend...
BGN – The looming threat of Hurricane Joaquin has caused the NFL to develop contingency plans in case Sunday’s scheduled game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Redskins cannot be played. One of those plans, according to Jason La Canfora, involves the Eagles and Redskins moving their bye week to now and rescheduling the game for Week 8, when both teams currently have a bye.
Hurricane my eye. This is football. The Postal Serviceman of sports. Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays the NFL from the robbing thee to thy right to football and thereby distract thee from thy miserable existence. I don’t care if the Eagles a few years back cancelled a game they rescheduled for a Tuesday because of a couple of flakes (a game in which ultimately cost them a first round bye, so they ended up falling last minute at home to Green Bay, the eventual SB Champions – I blame Joe Webb and Andy Reid equally). Nobody will be in danger on the field because this coked up, insanely talented yet batshit crazy storm decides to stroll in over the weekend. And no, I’m not just saying this because the Eagles Bye week – which is currently Week 8 and features AT DALLAS after the break – will be essentially wasted. Wait, yes I am. Plus the fantasy implications could start WWZ. Play the damn game, Goodell.
No se El Nino over there. If it were the Nino then I would say bow before him, but this pussy cane isn’t even close.
INSTANT UPDATE: Let’s dance.
